Hello! - welcome to my blog....I am very lucky to have a job I love, meeting new people every day, and traveling around the country with my trusty camera (well actually more than just a camera!) and here are some of my stories and the shoots I have done...... |
Here are a couple of images from a recently commissioned photo shoot for the Sun Newspaper.
Was told in advance that I was going to be photographing five dogs and I must admit when I got there they were a dream to photograph!
Five great Dandie Dinmont Terriers!
Had the opportunity to spend some time around Leeds City Centre capturing the best of it's architecture and sights for one of my clients who commissioned the work.
Like most cities and towns, it's only when you take time to wander and look around that you appreciate the beauty of the place.
Was great going back to B&W for a change, reminds me of my days starting out at school but without the mess of chemicals and darkrooms!
Sorry not updated by blog for ages!
Here is a recent shoot commissioned by Cancer Research UK with the inspirational Gareth Dunn, a man from Leeds whose career in the British Army was cut short when he was diagnosed with cancer and which led to him having part of one leg amputated.
Gareth is one of the most fittest people I have met with his grueling gym sessions and track training. His outlook on life is so upbeat despite what he faces.
Gareth continues to write a blog on his life with incurable cancer and he has a target of raising £100,000 for Cancer Research UK : https://www.chemotionally-unstable.com/
The photo shoot was a dream as Gareth was so patient all day with me and also a TV cameraman there. Here are some of the pics
Last night was like the old college days - tripod dusted off and out into the cold to take night pictures!
Unlike 28 years ago, in my days on the NCTJ photo-journalism course in Sheffield with an old Nikon FM2 and Ilford b+w film, I had my Nikon D4 and the luxury of digital - and being able to see what I was shooting on the back screen.
I was commissioned last night to shoot the newly arrived Magical Lantern Festival just up the road from me in Roundhay Park.
Lots of long exposures, and fiddling around with the tripod and here are some of the results. Thanks Tony Johnson (YP staffer) for modelling!
Had fun on a recent shoot which involved lots of hanging out of a moving car to take my pics!
The commission was for The Sun and their Motors page, and we spent a morning at a park in South Yorkshire snapping the new rather lovely VW Tiguan.
After persuading a chap to drive me at speed in front of the Tiguan, on a private road of course, I managed to squeeze out of the back window for some nice panning shots.
Then we found a rural road shut off for roadworks - for some traffic free shots from road level.
Here are a few of the pics.
